American Restaurant Service Associate

Job Summary

South City Kitchen Midtown is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented American Restaurant Service Associate to support daily restaurant operations and deliver a welcoming dining experience. This role assists with guest service, order handling, food and beverage service, dining-area organization, and coordination with kitchen and front-of-house team members. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive to detail, and committed to providing efficient and courteous hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist guests with seating, menu questions, and general dining inquiries.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate special requests.
• Assist with serving appetizers, entrées, sides, desserts, and beverages.
• Support food preparation, plating, packaging, and order assembly as needed.
• Check orders for accuracy and ensure proper presentation.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to support timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments as assigned.
• Clear and reset tables to prepare dining areas for incoming guests.
• Maintain clean and organized dining rooms, counters, service stations, and workspaces.
• Restock utensils, napkins, condiments, beverages, and other service supplies.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle food, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Communicate guest concerns, supply needs, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Support coworkers during busy service periods and help maintain smooth operations.
• Help create a positive dining experience through attentive and respectful service.
• Perform other restaurant service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.

About South City Kitchen Midtown

South City Kitchen Midtown provides a restaurant environment focused on food service, guest hospitality, and a positive dining experience. The team works together to maintain consistent service standards, organized operations, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
