Aml Analyst

Job summary:

The sanctions analyst is responsible for ensuring the bank complies with international and local sanctions regulations by monitoring, analyzing and reporting potential sanctions violations.

The role involves assisting the Sanctions desk of AML compliance unit in its daily activities.

Job Profile:

1. Investigation of alerts escalated by operations.

2. Practical experience and knowledge on EU , US related sanctions.

3. Liaison with IT unit for screening tool enhancements, resolution of screening related issues.

4. Liaison with operations or branch on account blocking.

5. Performing ad hoc activities related to list maintenance.

6. Assist in preparation of reports, historic transactions data etc to investigate into cases.

7. Maintaining accurate MIS and documentation of daily transactions.

8. Maintenance of records related to Sanctions decisions.

Key skills and competencies:

1. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
2. Analytical and proactive mindset to assess complex sanctions skills.
3. Ability to work under highly time bound/sensitive environment with accurate analysis of the transactions
4. Knowledge on global sanctions regulations (OFAC, UN, EU etc.)
5. Knowledge on trade products like LC, open account transactions, Merchant trade transactions, Buyers credit, suppliers credit, BG, Collections, etc.
6. Knowledge on AML and how money laundering works in trade transactions
7. Advanced excel proficiency, automating reports, dashboards etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Strong knowledge of trade related products, documentation and related scrutiny.
