AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems for cold storage, food processing, and industrial refrigeration facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Troubleshoot and repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, piping, and control systems
• Monitor system performance and perform preventive maintenance
• Detect and repair ammonia leaks
• Perform compressor overhauls and equipment servicing
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Maintain maintenance records and service reports
• Ensure compliance with ammonia safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company safety standards
• Respond to emergency breakdowns when necessary

About you

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
• Familiar with electrical controls, contactors, relays, and motor controls
• Ability to read technical drawings and refrigeration schematics
• Ammonia leak detection and repair
• Refrigeration piping and valve replacement
• Compressor overhaul and maintenance
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Strong commitment to safety when working with ammonia systems
• Willing to travel and work on project sites
