HALL CHADWICK (HK) LIMITED
ANALYST, CROSS-BORDER ADVISORY
Hong Kong / Latin America / Iberia corridor
Insolvency, Restructuring & Corporate Finance | Hong Kong SAR | Full time, permanent
ABOUT HALL CHADWICK
Hall Chadwick is one of the largest independent accounting and advisory groups, with a network spanning Asia Pacific, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Middle East, and an independent member of PrimeGlobal. Our Hong Kong office advises on insolvency, restructuring, corporate finance and cross-border transactions. The majority of the clients we service from Hong Kong are international, and our work routinely crosses three or more jurisdictions at once.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Hong Kong is deliberately broadening its trade and capital corridors beyond its traditional markets. The 2025 Policy Address committed to expanding the Government’s Economic and Trade Office network to cover Latin America, and Hong Kong already has free trade agreements with Chile and Peru, investment promotion and protection agreements with Mexico and Chile, and InvestHK and HKTDC representation in Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Lima, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Alongside that, Government policy is building out commodities trading, gold, offshore renminbi financing, tokenisation and digital assets, and family office capability in Hong Kong.
Very few advisory teams in this market can actually work in Spanish. We are hiring an Analyst who can, and who wants to build genuine Hong Kong technical depth on top of that language and cross-border commercial capability.
THE ROLE
You will join the Insolvency, Restructuring and Corporate Finance team as an Analyst, reporting to a Manager with overall supervision from the Hong Kong Managing Partner. This is a preparation and analysis role. You will produce the financial analysis, schedules, research and draft documents that Managers and Partners review, and you will be the team’s working capability in Spanish-speaking and Iberian markets.
What you will do
Build and maintain financial models under supervision, including cash-flow forecasts, liquidity analyses, recovery schedules, creditor distribution waterfalls and scenario sensitivities.
Prepare valuation inputs and supporting schedules (discounted cash flow, asset-based and market comparable analyses) and document the assumptions applied.
Research counterparties, assets, groups and market conditions across Latin America, Spain and Hong Kong, working directly from Spanish-language filings, registries, financial statements, press and correspondence.
Draft correspondence, information requests and summaries in Spanish and English, and provide working translation of commercial and financial documents for the engagement team.
Support engagement teams on cross-border matters: coordinating with overseas counsel, local advisers and Hall Chadwick network offices across time zones.
Prepare first drafts of reports, creditor and stakeholder communications, board briefings and information memoranda for review before issue.
Support commercial and transactional workstreams, including review of contractual and trade terms, cross-border payment and settlement arrangements and supply chain documentation.
Complete client acceptance, conflict check and AML/KYC documentation accurately, coordinating with Legal and Compliance.
Maintain data rooms, matter records, checklists and trackers, and build clear reporting and dashboards for engagement and practice management.
WHAT YOU NEED
These are the capabilities we expect you to bring on day one.
Languages. Native or near-native Spanish and fluent professional English, both to a standard where you can draft, negotiate and present. Italian, Portuguese or French is an advantage.
Cross-border commercial experience. Demonstrated experience working on transactions or commercial relationships between Latin America or Iberia and another region, with direct counterparty contact rather than back-office support only.
Negotiation and documentation exposure. Practical exposure to commercial terms and their documentation: pricing, payment and delivery terms, Incoterms, specifications, or the equivalent in a financial or advisory setting.
Financial analysis. Ability to build and sanity-check a model, read management and statutory accounts, and reconcile analysis back to source data. A degree in business, finance, economics or accounting.
Tools. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and working capability in at least one BI or dashboard tool (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau or Cognos).
Delivery under pressure. Experience preparing analysis and materials for senior stakeholders to a deadline, and translating complex information into something a decision-maker can use.
Client onboarding and compliance. Exposure to KYC, CDD and client documentation, and to working alongside Legal, Compliance and Product or engagement teams.
Eligibility. The right to work in Hong Kong, or eligibility for an employment visa. We sponsor and support visa applications for the successful candidate.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
Hong Kong has published a Talent List of professions where the city is actively seeking to deepen its skills base. In financial services this includes fintech, commodities trading, ESG financial professionals, asset and wealth management compliance and management, specialty insurance, market experience and accountants. We will back you to build into one or more of these areas, and prior depth in any of them is a strong advantage.
Digital payments, CBDC and digital assets. Exposure to e-CNY, e-HKD, stablecoins, tokenisation or digital asset market structure, whether professional, academic or through your own research.
Commodities and trade. Understanding of physical commodity trade flows, export programmes, logistics and trade finance, particularly out of Latin America. Hong Kong is actively building its commodities trading base, including new tax concessions and approved metal delivery warehouses.
Capital markets. Research, dissertation or professional work on equity markets, IPOs, pricing or valuation. Hong Kong led the world in IPO fundraising in 2025.
ESG and sustainable finance. Any grounding in sustainability reporting, carbon markets or green financing frameworks.
Insurance, pensions and wealth. Advisory or product experience in insurance, pension funds or private wealth, and a genuine interest in the family office and cross-boundary wealth management market Hong Kong is building.
Data and AI capability. Practical use of data analysis and AI-assisted research and drafting workflows, with the judgement to know when the output needs checking.
WHAT WE WILL DEVELOP IN YOU
You are not expected to arrive with Hong Kong technical experience. The following will be taught, supported and funded, and forms part of your development plan from the first month.
Hong Kong insolvency and restructuring law and practice, learned on live appointments under partner supervision, including the statutory reporting, investigation and realisation process.
Hong Kong regulatory, AML and CTF requirements and the firm’s compliance framework.
Professional qualification support towards HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent, and towards an insolvency qualification, including study leave and examination support.
Cantonese or Mandarin language study support. Neither is required to start, and we expect you to make a start on one of them.
Structured supervision, full review of your work before it is released, and a defined progression path to Senior Analyst.
Direct exposure to partners, clients, creditors, counsel and the Hall Chadwick international network from your first engagement.
