Analyst– Research & Financial Analytics

We are seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious professional to support strategic decision-making through deep financial, company, industry, and competitive analysis. The role requires the ability to transform complex datasets and market intelligence into actionable insights for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong financial acumen, structured problem-solving, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to independently drive research projects with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Business Performance

• Analyze financial statements and business performance metrics, including EBITDA, working capital, return ratios, efficiency ratios, margins, and valuations.
• Build revenue-to-margin bridges and identify key drivers impacting profitability.
• Reconcile financial variances and prepare management-level analytical reports.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions.

Company & Industry Research

• Conduct in-depth research on companies, industries, and market ecosystems.
• Evaluate business models, competitive positioning, technological capabilities, regulatory environments, and growth opportunities.
• Assess industry attractiveness, market structure, pricing power, and profitability implications.
• Analyze operational metrics and connect them to financial performance.

Competitive Intelligence & Benchmarking

• Develop comprehensive competitor benchmarking studies.
• Compare peer companies across financial, operational, commercial, and strategic dimensions.
• Normalize datasets for accounting policies, reporting periods, currency impacts, and business models.
• Present actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

Strategic Analytics & Insights

• Integrate and reconcile large, fragmented datasets from multiple sources.
• Identify trends, opportunities, risks, and business implications through data-driven analysis.
• Support market sizing, market share estimation, demand-supply analysis, and industry structure assessments.
• Provide recommendations backed by robust analytical frameworks.

Presentation & Executive Communication

• Create high-quality executive presentations and strategy decks.
• Develop compelling storylines, key messages, and insightful visualizations.
• Translate complex analysis into clear and concise recommendations for senior management.
• Coach and guide team members on presentation quality and analytical output standards.

Research Quality & Methodology

• Critically evaluate market research sources and methodologies.
• Identify limitations, assumptions, and risks within research findings.
• Ensure analytical conclusions are appropriately supported by data and evidence.
• Establish sound research frameworks for strategic projects.

Dashboarding & Reporting (Preferred)

• Design and structure multidimensional dashboards for management decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements.

Qualification:

• CA with 3-4 years of experience OR
• MBA (Finance) with 8-10 years of relevant experience in corporate strategy, industry research, equity research, investment research, ratings agencies, GCCs, consulting firms, or chemical/agri-business organizations.
