Analyst - Sustainability

About the role

We are seeking an Analyst - Sustainability to join Hume Cement Sdn Bhd in a pivotal role that combines strategic analysis with environmental stewardship. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As Senior Analyst - Sustainability, you will play a crucial part in driving our sustainability initiatives and ensuring that environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations are embedded throughout our operations. This role is strategically important to our company's vision of becoming a leader in sustainable cement production and will directly influence how we balance business growth with environmental responsibility.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Work with diverse functions, departments, and Plant operations to set and execute sustainability performance enhancement goals, targets, KPIs and roadmaps; effectively monitor and measure progress.
• Promote the organization’s sustainability philosophy to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan & execute an effective stakeholder engagement and materiality assessment initiatives and generate reports and response action plan as required.
• Prepare and coordinate the Annual Sustainability Report and Communication on Progress (COP).
• Manage and coordinate the implementation of Sustainability initiatives and programs, with measurable impact.
• Help define training needs for the organization to support Sustainability objectives.
• Coordinate and support the operationalization of the organization’s sustainability approach/policy across business operations through internal and external facilitated sustainability trainings.
• To carry out any other duties as directed by the Company Management.

Managerial (Team/Group Responsibilities):

• Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams on sustainable practices and their role in achieving organizational sustainability goals.
• Recommend adjustments to strategies based on performance metrics.

Organisational (Organisational Responsibilities):

• Report to the Manager – Sustainability.
• 5S – Adherence and participation in 5S activities.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• Have 2 to 3  years of working experience in sustainability reporting roles, preferably within a public listed company.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in relevant software tools.
• Familiarity with GHG emission calculations and life cycle assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change.
