You will be responsible to:

Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of compounds, including drug substances, drug product intermediates and drug product. Recommends the analytical characterization package (Chemical, physical, performance) and controls the quality and accuracy of the data in compliance with legislation and regulatory standards of Quality, HSE and cGMP policies. Promotes the scientific excellence and innovation in the Analytical area and contributes with technical expertise to expand the Intellectual Property, product and technology portfolios.

• Ensure the information flow between the laboratory and the several internal and external customers

• Review and approve the analytical data generated by the team

• Prepare reports and other type of official documentation rendered by the analytical data

• Support project teams on solving and troubleshooting technical and analytical challenges on their specific area of expertise

• Establish and maintain a continuous improvement plan

• Participate in investigations and propose corrective and preventive actions

• To ensure the proper equipment verification and calibration as per procedures in place

• To ensure the team only generate data on equipment “in service” and properly verified and/or calibrated as per procedures in place

• Supervise the TMs assigned to his/her area of responsibility and distribute work tasks. Provide input to ensure HR processes run smoothly, namely in terms of recruitment, integration, training needs and performance management in accordance with the company's HR policies. Ensure all TMs are aligned and motivated towards achieving Hovione's goals, values and culture by promoting their personal and professional development whilst maximizing productivity

• Ensure area goals are properly cascaded to the team

• Ensure compliance with GMP and HSE guidelines, internal and external requirements as well as promote the implementation and maintenance of Hovione´s policies, systems and procedures (COPs, HBR, SOPs and others) within his/ her TMs

• Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or in similar Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Health Sciences fields, or equivalent job experience

• Requires relevant experience in Analytical Development or other relevant areas within the Pharmaceutical industry

• Knowledge and Experience in cGMP (desirable) and HSEE practices (mandatory)

• Experience in coordinating others in the field (desired)

• Possess solid knowledge of Analytical Chemistry / Analytical Development and associated laboratory practices, and is able to share them with others

• Good communication skills (verbal and written)

• Skilled at running work processes and its related tools

• Fluency in English is highly desirable

• Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down
