Analytics Engineer Toronto (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Analytics Engineer Toronto (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will play a key part in building and maintaining trusted analytics foundations that power business reporting, decision-making, and internal AI initiatives. You will partner closely with BI and data teams to refine metrics, model data into reusable datasets, and help ensure the organization’s data assets are well documented and easy to use. The position combines hands-on data modeling, dashboard support, and cross-functional collaboration in a remote environment.

The work will focus on translating ambiguous business needs into clear analytical structures that support stakeholders across the company and improve the quality of downstream insights.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $135,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt models from the business vault layer to the data mart
• Collaborate with BI and enterprise data teams to refine calculations and models
• Create new Kimball-style datasets from existing business vault sources
• Build AI-ready datasets for internal AI systems
• Maintain and enrich the data dictionary in OpenMetadata
• Translate ambiguous business questions into clear metrics definitions
• Collaborate with BI analysts to streamline insight needs into modeling requirements
• Develop Tableau dashboards to effectively present data mart outputs

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a related field
• Hands-on dbt experience in a production environment
• Strong SQL skills, especially in cloud data warehouses
• Familiarity with dimensional modeling concepts
• Previous experience delivering analysis or dashboards for business stakeholders
• Proficiency in Tableau or similar BI tools
• Experience with Git-based workflows
