Pay Range: ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY LAB ASST - $28.82 to $46.10

Job Summary:

The Anatomic Pathology Lab Assistant (APA) assists the pathologist in the day to day technical operation of the pathology department.

Licensure and Certification:

• N/A

Education:

• AA Certificate or Degree or college courses in health science or related

Experience:

• 2-5 years previous experience in a hospital environment desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Pathology specimen processing including frozen sections is required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately without constant supervision.
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate and understand information with our customers
• Organizational skills
• Problem solving skills

Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:

• Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
• Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
• Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
• Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
• Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
