Android Developer

About the Role

We're looking for a senior Android consultant to join the Mobile App team of a leading banking client. You'll contribute directly to the Android roadmap — from feature development to architecture decisions — working alongside iOS engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality mobile banking experience.

This is a senior/staff-level engagement (equivalent to Manager / Senior Manager level in a consulting career track). We're looking for someone who doesn't just know Android — someone who's lived in it for 7–10+ years, can solve ambiguous, abstract problems independently, and can mentor and technically lead less experienced developers.

What You'll Do

• Own feature development, maintenance, and technical improvements across our Android application
• Design and implement scalable mobile architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Collaborate closely with iOS engineers and cross-functional teams to keep platform experiences consistent
• Take ownership of technical solutions and actively shape architectural decisions
• Act as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level Android developers
• Uphold code quality through rigorous testing, code review, and CI/CD practices

What We're Looking For

• 7–10+ years of hands-on, production-level Android development experience — your CV should clearly map specific projects, responsibilities, and timelines, not just list technologies
• Deep, demonstrable expertise in Kotlin; prior Java experience is a strong plus
• Proven track record designing scalable architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Hands-on expertise with Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Dagger 2/Hilt, and the broader Jetpack library ecosystem
• Strong experience with reactive/async programming (RxJava and/or Kotlin Coroutines & Flow)
• Solid grasp of concurrency, threading, and performance optimization
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP, SOLID, clean code, design patterns
• Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, UI)
• Solid Git and code review practices; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of Material Design and mobile UX best practices
• Experience publishing and maintaining apps on Google Play
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers

• Location: candidates must be based in Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania
• Work model: hybrid, minimum 2 days/week onsite (non-negotiable)
• Engagement: consultant role with a banking client
• Salary: up to 43 EUR/hr
