Android Developer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Developer with an interest in or experience with payment systems to develop secure and reliable applications for Android-based EDC and payment terminal devices. You will collaborate with Product, Backend, QA, Operations, payment service providers, and device vendors throughout the development lifecycle—from solution design and device integration to testing, deployment, and production support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for EDC devices and payment terminals.
• Develop payment transaction flows, including Sale, Void, Refund, Settlement, and Reconciliation.
• Integrate applications with Payment SDKs, Terminal SDKs, backend APIs, and relevant third-party services.
• Integrate and control EDC hardware components, including Chip Card readers, Contactless/NFC readers, Magnetic Stripe readers, PIN Pads, and receipt printers.
• Ensure reliable operation across Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and mobile networks.
• Design application architecture that is secure, maintainable, testable, and scalable.
• Protect cardholder data, transaction data, credentials, and other sensitive information.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving application software, hardware, firmware, device SDKs, and network connectivity.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in end-to-end testing on physical EDC devices.
• Prepare technical documentation, integration guides, and deployment instructions.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional Android application development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Good understanding of the Android SDK, application lifecycle, Gradle, and permission management.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON data.
• Understanding of software architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or Modular Architecture.
• Experience with Android Jetpack components such as ViewModel, Room, Navigation, and WorkManager.
• Experience with Coroutines, Flow, or other asynchronous programming tools.
• Familiarity with Git, code review, and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze logs and debug issues on physical devices.
