Android Developer — Kotlin

jStack builds financial infrastructure for banks, fintechs, telecom operators and businesses. Our solutions include digital wallets, mobile money, payment gateways, payment orchestration and transaction management platforms.

We are looking for a Kotlin Android Developer to build secure, reliable native Android applications for customers, merchants and agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build interfaces using Jetpack Compose and maintain XML-based screens where required.
• Implement maintainable application architecture using MVVM or similar patterns.
• Integrate REST APIs, authentication and payment-related workflows.
• Use Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous operations.
• Implement local storage, secure session handling and background tasks.
• Integrate push notifications, deep links, biometric authentication and device capabilities.
• Handle network failures, retries and application lifecycle changes reliably.
• Optimize performance and resolve crashes, memory issues and application freezes.
• Write appropriate unit and UI tests.
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers and QA teams.
• Manage builds, signing and Google Play release processes.

Required Skills

• 2–5 years of Android development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK and Android Studio.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose or Android XML layouts.
• Understanding of Android lifecycle, navigation and architecture components.
• Experience with Coroutines, Flow and REST API integration.
• Familiarity with Retrofit/OkHttp, Room and dependency injection.
• Understanding of permissions, secure storage and mobile application security.
• Experience with Git, Gradle and Android debugging tools.

Good to Have

• Experience with Hilt/Dagger, WorkManager and Firebase.
• Familiarity with JUnit, Espresso or Compose UI testing.
• Experience integrating payment, KYC, QR scanning or biometric SDKs.
• Experience with POS devices, printers or other Android peripherals.
• Experience developing fintech, wallet or payment applications.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
