Android Developer

Senior Android Developer | Kotlin, Jetpack, ExoPlayer | £80k | London, remote-first | 1-2 days a month in the office - must be UK based

We're looking for a Senior Android Developer to join a team building a leading video-on-demand platform. You’ll report to the Lead Android Developer, with a clear path to leading the team as it grows.

Due to the internal situation, we need someone immediately available.

What you’ll do

• Own the technical delivery of Android projects, from scoping through to release
• Lead by example on code quality, mentor the other Android developers and help set coding standards
• Explain technical options and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and senior clients
• Keep technical debt under control and look for better tools and ways of working

What we’re looking for

• Strong Kotlin and Java, with MVVM and Clean Architecture
• Android Jetpack (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, Navigation), Dagger2, RxJava2, Retrofit and OkHttp
• ExoPlayer or other video playback experience
• Unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Clear communicator who’s comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
• Calm under pressure, solution focused and detail oriented
