Android Developer

Responsible for Android/AOSP development, Automotive Android integration, and SoC platform bring-up for next-generation automotive systems. The role involves owning Android platform topics, integrating BSP/HAL components, developing system-level and application-level features, debugging complex hardware/software issues, and coordinating with SoC, Linux, middleware, and application teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, customize, and integrate AOSP / Android Automotive (AAOS) for automotive SoC platforms.
2. Own Android Framework, HAL, system services, and platform integration activities.
3. Work closely with Linux/BSP, SoC, hardware, and application teams for platform bring-up and integration.
4. Develop and integrate AIDL/HIDL HALs, JNI, and native C/C++ components.
5. Integrate and debug display, audio, camera, connectivity, storage, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other SoC peripherals.
6. Analyze and resolve system-level Android, kernel, BSP, and hardware/software integration issues.
7. Perform performance, stability, boot-time, and memory optimization at the platform level.
8. Customize Android build configurations and manage AOSP/Soong/Make integration.
9. Work with SoC vendors such as Telechips for issue analysis, patches, and platform integration.
10. Participate in architecture/design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
11. Independently drive assigned Android/SoC topics through the complete lifecycle: requirement analysis, development, integration, debugging, and delivery.
12. Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
13. Support releases, defect resolution, and production issue analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. 8+ years of experience in Android development, preferably Automotive Android.
2. Strong hands-on experience in Android Framework and AOSP.
3. Strong Java/Kotlin and C/C++ programming skills.
4. Experience with Android HAL (AIDL/HIDL) and JNI.
5. Good understanding of Android architecture, system services, and Binder IPC.
6. Experience in Android BSP/SoC integration and board bring-up.
7. Hands-on experience with the Android build system (Soong/Make) and AOSP customization.
8. Good knowledge of Linux Kernel, Device Tree, and Android drivers.
9. Experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) / Automotive Infotainment.
10. Experience integrating display, audio, camera, connectivity, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, storage, or other SoC peripherals.
11. Strong Android system-level debugging skills using ADB, logcat, dumpsys, systrace/Perfetto, etc.
12. Experience with Git, Gerrit, and CI/CD.
13. Ability to independently own Android/SoC topics and drive issues to closure.
