Android Developer (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)

We are looking for an Android developer who wants to develop and evolve the heyOBI app , connecting digital shopping with the in-store experience within a large retail ecosystem . You will contribute to intuitive and reliable mobile experiences covering product discovery, shopping, customer accounts, and loyalty benefits. You will collaborate closely with engineers, UX/UI designers, product owners, and architects to deliver maintainable solutions for international markets.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose , integrating with existing Android Views where needed.
• Translate business requirements and UX/UI designs into accessible, responsive, and user-friendly mobile experiences.
• Integrate GraphQL and REST APIs for product information, store availability, customer accounts, shopping lists, and loyalty services.
• Implement reliable authentication, session management, and network error handling .
• Manage asynchronous operations and application state using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow .
• Develop and maintain local persistence, caching, and data synchronisation to ensure consistent behaviour under varying network conditions.
• Support seamless navigation across native screens, embedded web content, deep links, and push notifications .
• Ensure application quality through automated testing, code reviews, performance optimisation, and production issue analysis .
• Collaborate on localisation, market-specific requirements, CI/CD, and Google Play releases .

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical field.
• 3-5 years of professional Android development experience , with strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience maintaining and evolving a production application.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose , a solid understanding of the Android SDK and application lifecycle , and familiarity with existing Android Views and Fragments .
• Practical experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow , including asynchronous operations and reliable UI state management.
• Experience integrating GraphQL and REST APIs , ideally using Ktor , with a good understanding of authentication, session management, and network error handling.
• Experience with local persistence and caching , ideally using Room and DataStore , and maintaining consistency between local and backend data.
• A good understanding of modular application design, separation of concerns, and dependency injection .
• Familiarity with WebView integration, deep links, push notifications, and Android background processing .
• Experience with automated unit and UI testing , debugging, crash analysis, and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with Git, Gradle, CI/CD, and Google Play release processes .
• Strong communication skills in English and Polish , with readiness to work in a hybrid model in Katowice .

Nice to have:

• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or loyalty applications .
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform .
• Experience with Firebase, ML Kit, or CameraX .
• Knowledge of accessibility and localization for international apps.
