Anesthesia Veterinary Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will assist in the administration and monitoring of anesthesia during surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of our animal patients. Your expertise will support veterinary surgeons and clinicians in delivering exceptional care, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, aseptic technique, and animal welfare. Responsibilities

• Prepare, create, and tailor anesthetic protocols for each patient to optimize safety and a balanced anesthetic event.
• Assist with vascular access procedures including IV insertion and catheterization to establish reliable lines for anesthesia delivery and fluid administration.
• Monitor anesthesia depth, vital signs, and physiological parameters using veterinary anesthesia monitoring equipment; adjust anesthetic levels as needed to maintain patient stability.
• Support with animal handling, restraint, and positioning to facilitate safe induction, maintenance, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Maintain detailed records of anesthesia protocols, medication administration, vital signs, and patient responses in veterinary software systems.

Qualifications

• At least one year of anesthesia experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy relevant to anesthesia procedures.
• Experience with general anesthesia techniques, including IV insertion, vascular access, and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with commonly used anesthetic agents/medications.
• Familiarity with common monitoring necessary during anesthesia (SpO2, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, ETCO2, etc).

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
