The Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui is responsible for leading and promoting integrity across all levels of sport and recreation. We set standards, build sector capability, investigate serious integrity concerns, and work alongside participants and organisations to prevent harm. Our work is grounded in te Tiriti o Waitangi and public service values.
We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Anti-Doping Manager to lead the controlled, compliant, and efficient delivery of our anti-doping testing, Whereabouts, and therapeutic use exemption (TUE) administration functions.
This is an opportunity to lead a critical national regulatory function that helps protect the fairness and integrity of sport in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will ensure our testing and related services are carefully planned, authorised, documented, monitored and reviewed, with clear accountability, effective controls and timely escalation of risks, incidents, and non-compliance.
As the leader of our Anti-Doping team, you will balance strict procedural compliance and operational efficiency with a fair, respectful, and athlete-centered experience. You will lead a team of specialist employees and oversee a wider network of sample collection personnel delivering anti-doping services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Mō te tūranga - About this role:
Every athlete deserves the opportunity to compete on a fair and level playing field. As our Anti-Doping Manager, you will lead New Zealand’s national anti-doping testing programme and oversee the operational systems, processes, controls, and quality assurance arrangements that support testing, Whereabouts, and Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) administration.
You will ensure these functions consistently meet the World Anti-Doping Code, relevant International Standards, the Sports Anti-Doping Rules, legislative requirements, and the Commission’s own policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a compliant, risk-based national anti-doping testing programme.
- Overseeing test distribution planning and ensuring testing priorities are translated into controlled and achievable operational plans.
- Leading and supporting the Anti-Doping team, setting clear expectations for quality, timeliness, accountability, and professional conduct.
- Overseeing a responsive and well-coordinated field-testing network delivering compliant and high-quality sample collection services.
- Owning and maintaining the operational control framework for testing, Whereabouts, and Therapeutic Use Exemption administration.
- Ensuring anti-doping operations remain audit-ready, with complete and accurate records and clear evidence that required controls have been performed.
- Monitoring compliance, service standards, operational risks, exceptions, incidents, and data quality.
- Promptly identifying, investigating, and escalating non-compliance, control failures, process deviations, and operational risks.
- Leading preparations for World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA) and other internal or external audits and ensuring corrective actions are completed and sustained.
- Ensuring employees and contracted personnel are appropriately trained, authorised and assessed as competent before undertaking regulated or high-risk activities.
- Monitoring operational performance and using testing, compliance, and service information to improve planning, resourcing, and delivery.
- Building and maintaining constructive relationships with national sport organisations, athlete bodies, international federations, testing agencies, and other anti-doping partners.
- Ensuring sensitive athlete, medical and testing information is managed with appropriate confidentiality, privacy, and information handling controls.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced operational leader who wants to make a meaningful contribution to the fairness and credibility of sport in Aotearoa New Zealand. While compliance and quality are essential, this role is ultimately about people. You'll help ensure athletes experience anti-doping processes that are fair, respectful, professional, and consistent, while maintaining the integrity of the system that underpins clean sport.
