About the role

Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced AO Chargeman to join our team in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the management and operation of building automation and electrical systems within our properties. As AO Chargeman, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance, maintenance and technical coordination of building automation and electrical installations, ensuring optimal functionality, safety and compliance with industry standards. This position is integral to maintaining the highest levels of service delivery and operational excellence across our portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair of building automation systems and electrical equipment
• Monitor and troubleshoot building management systems to ensure continuous optimal performance
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules on all electrical and automation systems
• Manage technical documentation, system configurations and operational manuals for all building systems
• Liaise with contractors, vendors and external service providers to ensure quality workmanship and compliance
• Respond to system failures and emergency situations with prompt diagnostic and remedial action
• Train and guide junior technicians and support staff on system operations and safety procedures
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, electrical codes and building standards
• Prepare reports on system performance, maintenance activities and recommendations for upgrades or improvements
• Collaborate with building management and facilities teams to optimise energy efficiency and operational costs

What we're looking for

• Relevant technical qualifications in electrical engineering, building automation or related disciplines
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in building automation systems, electrical maintenance or facilities management
• Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS), HVAC controls and electrical distribution systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, testing equipment and system analysis software
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor technical staff
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Commitment to health and safety compliance and a proactive approach to risk management
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications such as C&I registration or equivalent professional qualifications are highly desirable
