AO5 Management Accountant

The Organisation:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join a well-established Queensland Government department that plays an important role in delivering services and outcomes for Queenslanders. You’ll join a collaborative finance team within an organisation offering flexibility, stability and valuable government experience.

The Role:
As an AO5 Management Accountant, you will support the wider finance function across budgeting, forecasting, reporting and month-end activities. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll provide meaningful financial insights and help support informed decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and financial reports
• Undertake variance analysis and investigate key financial movements
• Provide financial advice and respond to stakeholder queries
• Prepare accurate and timely management reporting
• Support month-end accounting and reporting activities
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support effective financial decision-making

Your Profile:

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or similar
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Previous Queensland Government experience will be highly regarded
