About the role

The APAC HR Director will serve as a core business partner to C-suite executives and regional leadership, translating commercial goals into robust, high-impact workforce strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. This role carries full functional accountability for regional talent acquisition, organizational architecture, total rewards, performance culture, and employment compliance. A key immediate focus will be unifying and leading regional HR operations—including direct leadership of the Mainland China HR team—to foster a high-performing, agile, and aligned regional organization.

Key responsibilities

A. Regional Strategic HR Leadership & Operational Integration

  • Partner with executive leadership to align regional HR strategies with long-term business expansion and commercial objectives across APAC.
  • Assume full direct oversight of in-country HR operations—including direct reporting line management for the China HR team—ensuring clear operational governance and seamless workflow alignment.
  • Drive organizational development, change management, and corporate culture integration across diverse markets (Hong Kong, Mainland China, Southeast Asia  etc.).
  • Establish clear functional boundaries between HR and other operational/administrative functions to ensure streamlined cross-departmental collaboration.

B. Talent Acquisition, Leadership & Succession Planning

  • Design and execute regional executive recruitment and talent acquisition frameworks to attract top-tier leadership and technical talent.
  • Build succession planning frameworks, high-potential development initiatives, and leadership pipeline programs for key regional markets.
  • Champion regional talent mobility, employee engagement, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) programs across multicultural teams.

C. Total Rewards, Performance Management & HR Systems

  • Oversee regional Compensation & Benefits (C&B) strategies, ensuring market-competitive total rewards aligned with regional economic benchmarks.
  • Corporate with the APAC Payroll Team to finish monthly payroll or payroll-related issue.
  • Implement standardized regional performance management systems that drive accountability, continuous growth, and performance-based incentives.
  • Lead digital HR transformation initiatives, optimizing HRIS platforms, workflows, and workforce data analytics to elevate operational efficiency.

D. Employment Governance, Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Ensure strict adherence to employment laws, statutory requirements, and labor standards across all operating APAC jurisdictions (including China Labor Contract Law, Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, and relevant SEA labor codes).
  • Oversee complex regional employee relations matters, serving as the senior escalation point for risk mitigation, employment compliance, and corporate governance.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines
  • 20+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior regional HR leadership role overseeing multi-country operations across APAC (specifically within Mainland China and SEA/HK hubs).
  • In-depth knowledge of employment regulations, talent landscapes, and cultural nuances across China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and other key APAC markets.
  • Proven track record in HR restructuring or post-merger functional integration.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory to lead China and regional stakeholders.
  • Strategic vision combined with hands-on execution ability; exceptional stakeholder management; cultural intelligence and strong analytical acumen.
  • Experience in business acquisition and integration.
  • Strong Change Management skill-set.

Benefits

  • 5-day work week
  • Bank holidays
  • Medical
  • Bonus
  • Competitive executive remuneration package
