API Automation Test Egineer

We are seeking an experienced API Automation Test Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API testing, automation frameworks, contract testing, and non-functional testing (NFT) , ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed applications and microservices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive API test strategies for RESTful and event-driven services.
• Build and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java or C# .
• Develop automated API test suites using tools such as Rest Assured, Karate, Postman/Newman, WireMock, or Playwright API .
• Perform Contract Testing using tools such as Pact to validate interactions between microservices.
• Conduct Non-Functional Testing (NFT) including performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience testing.
• Create and maintain CI/CD-integrated automated test pipelines.
• Work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
• Validate API security, authentication, authorization, and data integrity.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive resolution through collaboration with engineering teams.
• Contribute to quality engineering best practices, standards, and governance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience in API Testing and API Automation .
• Proficiency in Java or C# programming.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as:
• Rest Assured
• Karate
• Postman/Newman
• Playwright API
• Selenium (preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
• REST APIs
• JSON/XML
• OAuth2, JWT Authentication
• Microservices Architecture
• Hands-on experience in Contract Testing using tools such as Pact .
• Experience with Non-Functional Testing including:
• Performance Testing
• Load Testing
• Stress Testing
• Reliability/Resilience Testing
• Familiarity with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or LoadRunner .
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
