What they need

Apogee Program - Elementary, ages 5-12

About the Apogee Program

Apogee is a forward-thinking mentorship and leadership development program designed to help young students discover who they are, develop strong character, and learn real-world skills. We believe education should be exciting, hands-on, and purpose-driven, building confidence, creativity, and curiosity from an early age.

Our curriculum introduces entrepreneurship, health, teamwork, goal-setting, and personal growth, so students start building a foundation for lifelong success.

The Role

We’re looking for an inspiring, grounded, and patient Guide to work with a small group of late elementary and middle school students three days per week. You’ll mentor and coach them as they explore projects, teamwork, and life skills that build confidence, responsibility, and curiosity.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with teaching and reinforcing academic concepts while helping lead fun, engaging weekly sessions that promote life skills, leadership, health and wellness, teamwork, and creativity.
  • Guide students through real-world projects and challenges designed for their age group—like building a mini business, organizing a service project, or designing a group experiment.
  • Help students set and reach personal and academic goals in ways that feel motivating and achievable.
  • Encourage kindness, courage, and self-discipline through reflection and accountability.
  • Facilitate curiosity-driven discussions that invite students to think big and ask “why?”—not just memorize answers.
  • Introduce age-appropriate uses of technology and creativity tools to help each student learn in their own unique way.
  • Lead physical challenges or activities that build resilience, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Partner with the Apogee leadership team to share feedback and adapt lessons as the group grows.

Required & Preferred Skills

Required:

  • Strong communication and connection skills, you can get kids excited about learning and trying new things.
  • Genuine passion for mentoring and helping kids grow.
  • Ability to lead group activities, discussions, and creative projects.
  • Organized, dependable, and positive.
  • Problem-solver with a flexible, can-do attitude.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Background in teaching, coaching, or youth mentorship.
  • Experience with project-based learning or creative problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with growth mindset and character development principles.
  • Understanding of health, fitness, and personal wellness at an age-appropriate level.
  • Tech comfort with Google Workspace, Zoom, or similar platforms.

Who You Are

* A natural mentor who loves helping kids discover their potential.
* Passionate about learning, leadership, creativity, and health.
* Patient, enthusiastic, and able to connect authentically with young learners.
* Comfortable leading group activities, games, and discussions.
* You lead with kindness, structure, and curiosity—and know how to make learning feel like an adventure.

Maybe you’ve coached youth sports, led a camp group, homeschooled your own kids, or guided teams in creative or outdoor settings. What matters most is that you’re mission-driven and student-focused.

You believe learning should be active, purposeful, and fun—and that character development is just as important as academics.

Bonus Points If You…

  • Have created or led programs for kids or tweens.
  • Have experience with hands-on, experiential learning.
  • Have a strong sense of integrity and lead by example.

Why Join UsThis isn’t a traditional “teacher” role—it’s a chance to shape the next generation of leaders before high school begins. You’ll be part of a supportive community of mentors reimagining what education can be: engaging, empowering, and deeply human!
