Apparel Design Lead

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Offshore Design Lead to lead a high-performing Design team supporting a global Product Creation organization. The role will focus on Design leadership, product development, innovation, team capability building, and continuous improvement, while partnering with global stakeholders across Product Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and other functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop an offshore Design team
• Oversee Design execution from concept development through product development
• Manage team resources, priorities, workloads, and project deliverables
• Drive innovation across materials, construction, manufacturing, suppliers, and product development
• Build strong Design capabilities, processes, and knowledge-sharing practices
• Partner with global and cross-functional teams to deliver products efficiently and to a high standard
• Monitor market, consumer, competitive, and category trends to support product opportunities
• Introduce and leverage AI, digital Design tools, and emerging technologies to improve productivity and speed-to-market
• Support the development of future Design leaders through coaching and mentoring
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and scalable Design solutions

About you

• Proven experience in Design leadership or management, preferably within product creation, consumer products, manufacturing, or a related industry
• Strong understanding of product Design and development processes
• Experience managing and developing creative/design professionals
• Exposure to global or multinational teams is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing, suppliers, and product development
• Proficiency with relevant CAD, digital Design, visualization, or other Design technologies
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Innovative, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced global environment
