Appian Developer - Senior Certified

Overview

We are seeking an Appian Developer to help modernize and improve applications supporting FDA drug-review processes. You will work with business stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams to translate requirements into secure, maintainable Appian solutions.

Representative responsibilities

• Build, test, and enhance Appian applications, including SAIL interfaces, records, process models, expression rules, and data models.
• Develop reusable application components and workflow capabilities for intake, task management, document submission, review, and approvals.
• Support integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP services, APIs, and SQL-based data sources.
• Troubleshoot application defects and performance issues; contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities and follow established development, testing, release, and change-management processes.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Provide application-level production support and coordinate with platform operations teams when an issue involves the Appian environment.

Required experience and qualifications

• Hands-on Appian development experience, or relevant project-based experience and training.
• Familiarity with SAIL, process models, expression rules, records, data modeling, SQL, and web-service integrations.
• Appian Senior Developer certification or higher.
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and share knowledge.

Preferred experience and qualifications

• Familiarity with FDA/CDER programs, federal agency environments, or regulatory workflows.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and to CI/CD or DevOps practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools or capabilities to support Appian application development, such as accelerating requirements analysis, generating or refining expressions, or improving testing and documentation.

Pay: $90,800.00 - $135,000.00 per year
