Apple Mac Technician

About My Byte

My Byte is an established Apple Authorised Reseller and Apple Authorised Service Provider in Melbourne, providing Apple-authorised repairs and technical services to consumer, education and business customers.

We are looking for an experienced Mac Technician to join our Fitzroy service team.

About the role

As a Mac Technician, you will predominantly be involved in diagnosing, servicing and repairing Apple Mac products, including both warranty and out-of-warranty repairs.

Alongside your own technical workload, you will be the main point of support for our service team, assisting with more complex repairs and escalations, mentoring other technicians and helping to keep service jobs progressing efficiently.

This role would suit an experienced Mac technician who enjoys being hands-on but is also ready to take on greater responsibility within a small technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Apple Mac hardware.
• Perform Apple warranty and out-of-warranty repairs in accordance with Apple service procedures.
• Manage your repair workload and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Assist technicians with complex diagnoses and technical escalations.
• Mentor and support other members of the service team.
• Help monitor outstanding jobs, workflow and turnaround times.
• Assist with customer escalations when required.
• Support Apple/AASP service standards and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve service processes and efficiency.

About you

You will already have professional Apple Mac hardware repair experience and be confident diagnosing and resolving Mac hardware faults independently.

Ideally, you will have 2+ years of professional Mac repair experience, although we are open to candidates who can demonstrate strong Mac diagnostic and repair capability.

You will also have:

• Strong Mac hardware diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• A professional and organised approach.
• A willingness to share your knowledge and support other technicians.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Previous experience with an Apple Authorised Service Provider or Apple Store, Apple technical certifications, GSX, iOS repairs or team leadership will be highly regarded.

Please note that this position requires existing professional Mac hardware repair experience. It is not a general IT helpdesk, PC support or mobile phone repair position.

What we offer

• $75,000–$90,000 + super, depending on experience.
• Full-time employment.
• Predominantly Mac-focused technical work.
• Apple-authorised warranty and out-of-warranty repairs.
• A senior position within a small, experienced service team.
• The opportunity to mentor others and take on greater responsibility while remaining hands-on.

If you're an experienced Mac technician looking for your next opportunity, we'd like to hear from you.

Please submit your résumé and a brief cover letter addressing:

1. How many years of professional Apple Mac hardware repair experience do you have?
2. Have you previously worked within an Apple Authorised Service Provider or Apple Store?
3. Do you have experience with Apple GSX and Apple's authorised repair processes, any repair queue software?
