Application Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Application Analyst to support, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize healthcare payer and health plan applications. This position will work closely with internal departments, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure application functionality, resolve technical issues, and support system improvements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in application support, systems analysis, troubleshooting, and application configuration, preferably within a healthcare, managed care, or insurance payer environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional support for healthcare payer applications, including Cedar Gate EZ-Suite (EZ-CAP, EZ-EDI, EZ-NET, and Eligibility Manager).
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application errors, processing discrepancies, and user-reported issues.
• Manage service desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution, documentation, and follow-up.
• Perform routine application maintenance, configuration updates, and system troubleshooting.
• Support software updates, system releases, enhancements, and application testing.
• Develop and execute test scenarios to validate system functionality and identify issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather business requirements and improve application workflows.
• Assist with troubleshooting EDI transactions, system interfaces, and data exchange issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide end-user training, technical assistance, and ongoing application support.
• Participate in system implementations, improvement projects, and other assigned initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application support, systems analysis, application configuration, or a related technical role.
• Experience in a healthcare payer, managed care, medical group, or third-party administrator (TPA) environment preferred.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using ticketing systems, documenting technical issues, and supporting application testing.
• Familiarity with healthcare applications, EDI transactions, and system interfaces preferred.
• Ability to analyze application issues, identify solutions, and support system improvements.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical and nontechnical teams.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business, or a related field.
• An additional 4 years of relevant professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Work Environment

• Standard office environment with regular computer and telephone use.
• Monday through Friday schedule, with additional hours as needed for projects or system implementations.
• Occasional travel to other office locations may be required.
