As the Ion Chromatography (IC) business continues to grow, Metrohm Korea is seeking a talented and motivated Application Chemist to provide customers with best-in-class analytical solutions and technical support.

Position Overview

The IC Application Chemist is responsible for providing technical and application support for Metrohm's Ion Chromatography product portfolio.

This position involves supporting customers in their R&D, QC, and process analysis activities through method development, method validation, system performance verification, customer training, technical seminars, and consultation. The role also serves as a key liaison between customers and Metrohm's global application organization while helping to identify market trends, customer needs, and business opportunities for continued growth. In this role, you will support customers across a wide range of industries, including environmental, chemical, semiconductor, battery, pharmaceutical, and food sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Ion Chromatography (IC) analytical methods.
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges and propose technical solutions.
• Support product demonstrations and technical meetings with customers.
• Provide customer training, technical consultation, and onboarding support.
• Conduct on-site customer visits to provide technical assistance and troubleshoot issues.
• Introduce and localize new analytical methods, application notes, and technical resources for the Korean market.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and marketing teams to provide technical expertise and support.
• Monitor market trends and technological developments in the battery, semiconductor, environmental, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
• Identify new applications and business opportunities.
• Analyze competitive products and emerging analytical technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as IC, HPLC, GC, ICP, or equivalent.
• Experience in method development and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically.
• Ability to read and work with English technical documentation.

Employment Terms

Initial 2-year contract position, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent full-time position based on performance and business needs.
