About the Role

Develops and supports all application software solutions, handles projects and BAU support of Non-Life Reinsurance, Non-Life Data Admin, Internal Audit, and Finance teams. Works closely with functional business leaders to understand the business needs and priorities.

Responsibilities

Systems/Application Development or Enhancement

• Help identify system/application solutions that will address the users’ requirements
• Document business requirements as basis for application development
• Design and develop new programs, reports or enhancements to existing applications
• Conduct unit and system testing on applications developed or enhanced
• Coordinate and manage user acceptance testing and deployment
• Maintain project and code repository
• Enhance the existing core codes of the programs being developed to avoid programming ‘from scratch’ and adhere to the current coding standards
• Uses/explores/evaluates up-to-date technologies
• Streamlines the business process being designed. Example of these technologies can be Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Data Processing and Application Support

• Maintain and implement updates to third-party systems
• Manage access and licenses in coordination with Infrastructure support
• Provide support to business through specific administrative functions (eg. ARIMA opening and closing)
• Support ad hoc request for data extraction and reports generation
• Address and resolve tickets raised for application support/remediation

Vendor Management

• Liaise with partners and service providers

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a bachelor's degree course (4-year course) in the IT or Computer Science related fields
• With minimum of 2 years work experience in related field/job (IT Projects)
• Preferably with experience with accounting regulations projects e.g. IFRS

Required Skills

• Experience with identifying potential service risks and issues, and providing effective technical solutions to mitigate those risks
• Technical knowledge - sufficient knowledge of current and emerging technologies that will aid organizational day-to-day operations.
• Knowledge of some or all of the following programming and systems development tools and emerging technologies – VBA, Java, .Net, C#, ETL, web programming, virtualization, Cloud computing, MS SQL Server, Oracle DB, RAP
• Must have good communication skills
