Application Developer

Varmoda is seeking a skilled Application Developer to support enterprise application development, cloud modernization, and business-process automation initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable applications while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess experience across modern web application development, REST API development, cloud technologies, SQL Server, and Agile software delivery. This individual will contribute to both new application development and enhancement of existing systems while helping improve development processes and cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and reusable software solutions.
• Build and enhance cloud-based business applications using modern development frameworks and technologies.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code following established development standards and best practices.
• Translate business requirements and technical specifications into production-ready software solutions.
• Develop new features and enhancements while maintaining existing applications.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture and solution development activities.
• Demonstrate completed functionality and support stakeholder reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, integration issues, and performance concerns.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web service integrations.
• Design and support application interfaces using .NET technologies and modern web-development frameworks.
• Build solutions supporting data exchange, workflow automation, and enterprise system integration.
• Work with technologies including XML, JSON, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, and related web-service standards.
• Ensure APIs and integrations meet security, performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
• Support testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of application interfaces.
• Troubleshoot API connectivity, authentication, and integration issues.
• User Interface Development
• Develop responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
• Build interactive web applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Optimize application performance and front-end responsiveness.
• Enhance usability, accessibility, and user experience across supported applications.
• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to design practical and user-friendly solutions.
• Support ongoing UI enhancements and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and support applications operating within Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud environments.
• Participate in cloud-based application architecture, deployment, and optimization efforts.
• Configure and maintain cloud-hosted application components and services.
• Monitor application performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
• Support cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, deployment, and application-performance issues.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, database objects, and supporting components.
• Support SQL Server database development and maintenance activities.
• Perform database optimization and performance tuning activities.
• Validate data integrity and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Support data integration, reporting, and application data requirements.
• Work with development and business teams to implement reliable data-management solutions.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for work-item management, source control, and application lifecycle activities.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment automation initiatives.
• Follow established Software Development Life Cycle standards and development practices.
• Contribute to process improvement and development workflow optimization.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and system requirements.
• Evaluate software enhancement requests, new features, and application improvements.
• Analyze feasibility of proposed applications, enhancements, and system modifications.
• Identify technical constraints, risks, dependencies, and integration requirements.
• Develop recommendations and technical solutions aligned with business goals.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. OR
• 2–4 years of professional application development experience. OR
• An equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
