Application Developer

Job Summary

Shriram General Insurance is looking for an Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable business applications that support enterprise operations and digital services. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, high-performance applications while ensuring reliability, maintainability, and seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain business and enterprise applications.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Optimize applications for scalability, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and application maintenance activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for applications and development processes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and development standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, .NET, or similar technologies.
• Experience with application development frameworks and modern development tools.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and system integration.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Git and version control practices.
• Understanding of software architecture principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Understanding of enterprise application security and performance optimization.
