The entire information technology (IT) infrastructure is deployed and managed from the corporate location in Mumbai, where this role will be based. You will be part of the Digital and Information Technology Team. This team caters to technology requirements of Shoppers Stop and its subsidiaries.The candidate should be comfortable with non-hierarchical technology department, the focus being performance teams.All team members in the team are expected to interface with people across multiple business units.

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Technical POS Application lead to join our dynamic team. As a Technical POS product manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining our point of sale (POS) application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience with POS systems and a passion for creating efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development: Design, develop, and implement a robust and scalable POS application to meet the needs of our business and customers. This includes creating user interfaces, backend services, and integration with peripheral devices such as barcode scanners, card readers, and receipt printers.

Customization: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and customize the POS application to meet specific needs. This may involve developing custom features, workflows, or reports.

Integration: Integrate the POS application with other systems such as inventory management (SAP), customer relationship management (CRM), and accounting software to streamline business operations and data flow.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of the POS application to identify and fix bugs, ensure compatibility with various hardware and software configurations, and maintain high levels of reliability and performance.

Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for the POS application, including technical specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, IT staff, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption and operation of the POS application. Address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.

Security: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as PCI-DSS.

Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks, software updates, and upgrades to keep the POS application up-to-date with the latest features, technologies, and security patches.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Or equivalent work experience)

Proven experience in software development, with a focus on developing POS applications or similar retail solutions.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, along with experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.

Strong understanding of POS hardware, protocols, and peripheral devices.

Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and data modeling.

Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web services (RESTful APIs).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
