Position Overview The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support for the customer development project, sampling handling and SCHOTT internal technical communication. This role works closely with customers, BD / sales team, and internal stakeholders to understand customer requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.

Education / Job experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Background in battery related lab work and electrochemistry and battery manufacturing
• 2-3 years of experience in battery materials development and application.
• Hands on experience in battery research ideally have working experience with institute
• Initial experience working with customers and personality fitting to work customer facing
• Willingness to travel within China

Key Responsibilities

• Combination strong technical expertise and service attitude to solve customer problems
• Establish and qualify realiable partnership network with local processors
• Reduce sample delivery leadtime from stock to customer to max two weeks
• Reduce customer question feedback to 24hrs
• Create meaningful application data for oxide base solid state system
• Maintain ＞5 active sampling relationships with customer through the year
• Accept 50% travel time in China Customer interaction and tech support
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers, addressing inquiries and providing technical support.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their specific requirements and translate these into actionable tasks.
• Conduct regular site visits to customer to support sales when needed Material processing and partner management
• Identify and qualify processing partners together with team in MZ
• Oversee materials processing in collaboration with local partners.
• Ensure QC and documentation
• Manage the customization of materials based on customer feedback and requirements Project Management
• Manage application research activities together with selected academic partners

• Conduct deep dives in academic publication to source performance case data and generate further development ideas with the material portfolio
