Application Engineer

YOUR ROLE: Develop & Implement Packaging solutions

As an Application Engineer, you develop and implement tailor-made packaging solutions that are optimally adapted to each customer's individual requirements. You accompany projects from the initial concept through successful implementation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Work closely with Sales and Account Managers to analyse customer requirements and develop packaging solutions
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and the Sales team during project execution
• Design and develop innovative returnable packaging concepts (textile, plastics & Steel).
• Independently manage packaging projects throughout their full lifecycle—from concept to successful implementation—ensuring quality, timelines and budget objectives are achieved
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Procurement and Engineering to ensure smooth project execution and achievement of project objectives
• Participate in customer meetings, support sales presentations, and present prototypes and packaging solutions
• This position is based from our office in Lisdorf, Saarlouis Germany.

YOUR PROFILE: A customer driven & proactive project manager

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• We are looking for motivated engineers who enjoy solving technical challenges and working closely with customers
• Initial professional experience as an Application Engineer, Project Engineer or Project Manager is required
• You are skilled in Computer–Aided Design (CAD) programs (The knowledge of Siemens NX is a serious asset).
• Fluency in German and a very good command of English (both oral and written) is required

• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technically sound and commercially viable packaging solutions
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style with a high level of initiative
• Ability to work under time pressure, flexibility in action & strong organisational skills
• Good presentation & communication skills
• Strong ability to establish effective collaboration and work with cross functional teams
• You enjoy taking ownership, working proactively and contributing to the success of the team
