Application Engineer

Job Summary Alpitronic Americas Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Application Engineer to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring technical excellence, seamless customer integration, and innovation in every project.

What You'll Do Technical Sales and Sales Support

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for one or more strategic customers or vehicle OEMs, providing technical consultation and application support, including participation in recurring meetings and quarterly business reviews, as needed.
• Provide pre-sales technical support as it pertains to site design, product application, configuration, and new feature requests for new and existing customers.
• RFI and RFP Support: Review and provide feedback on technical specifications for Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Specification influence: Contribute to the development of technical specifications for product positioning and applications.

Technical and Project Support

• Product Delivery and Installation: Support pre and post-sales activities, including product delivery, installation, and commissioning.

Troubleshooting

• Apply structured methods like data mining, log analysis, and performance testing to identify and resolve issues
• Reproduce and isolate technical faults and contribute to effective solutions
• Triage bugs and help develop new feature requests with the System Engineering and Product Marketing teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with internal departments including Engineering, Product Management, Finance, and Operations
• Build and maintain relationships with global Alpitronic counterparts
• Periodically provide training to the sales team on relevant technical or product topics to enhance team sales effectiveness

Travel and Representation

• Customer Engagement: Travel to customer locations and trade shows - potentially international destinations - to represent Alpitronic and interact with customers.
• Represent Alpitronic at customer sites and key industry events, both locally and internationally
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and teardown of Alpitronic equipment at tradeshows and events
• Key Relationships: Visit and build relationships with key personnel within Alpitronic global operations.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field or experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in application engineering, power electronics, or site design
• Familiarity with digital hardware, power control systems, and circuit theory is advantageous
• Working knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN bus, and Modbus
• Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements or user stories
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
• Demonstrated passion for sustainable and future-focused technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Pre-sales application engineering or technical site design experience desired
• Experience with structured testing of R&D products and documenting findings
