Application Engineer

About the role

The PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) team is responsible for the management of the engineering document databases (PDM) in the Big Dutchman group and the CAD systems for more than 100 worldwide distributed engineers. We are looking for an application engineer responsible for building a reliable and scalable product data management environment. The focus will be the integration of other systems into the PLM application landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Maintenance of the product databases and automated background tasks.
• Integration of other business applications with Python, APIs and SQL queries.
• Development of the product data model to support the Ecommerce systems of the Big Dutchman group.
• Professionally diagnose and resolve issues reported by colleagues.
• Work in an international DevOps environment by taking responsibility to plan and complete tasks in quality and timely manner.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Experience with the engineering and customization of complex, distributed business applications (e.g. ERP, CRM or PLM)
• Strong knowledge in RESTful API concept, PostgresSQL, Cloud Technologies
• Strong experience in advanced script programming languages such as Python.
• Proficient understanding of development tools such as GitLab, JIRA, and etc.
• Required language: English
• A strong background in SolidWorks would be considered a significant advantage.
