The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is a pioneering technology leader helping to increase access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. From keeping lights on and factories running to supporting hospitals and schools, our solutions positively impact more than three‑quarters of the world’s population.

With over 100 years of engineering heritage and a strong commitment to diversity, we balance social, environmental, and economic values to support a more sustainable society. Today, more than 40,000 colleagues across 90+ countries are shaping the future of energy together.

In this role, you will provide pre‑sales technical expertise to support the sales organization and contribute directly to the success of FACTS solutions for transmission applications. You will bring deep technical knowledge in a focused product line and collaborate across teams to deliver optimized, customer‑centric solutions throughout the sales and tendering process. This position may also include ongoing customer support, ensuring long‑term value from commissioned systems.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with customers and key stakeholders to understand needs and deliver value‑driven solutions
  • Support sales through technical expertise, presentations, and in‑depth product demonstrations
  • Contribute to efficient marketing activities and articulate strong technical value propositions
  • Collaborate closely with customers, ISOs, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the sales process
  • Act as technical coordinator for tenders and remain accountable for the technical solution
  • Identify optimized technical solutions by working across the global Hitachi Energy FACTS network
  • Create added value by leveraging experience from installed projects and innovation initiatives
  • Support and participate in conferences, seminars, publications, and market‑facing events

Your background

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tender and project work within FACTS transmission applications
  • Authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Extensive experience with FACTS system design, analysis, simulations, and calculations
  • Hands‑on knowledge of tools such as PSSE, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, and similar platforms
  • Experience with VSC‑based converter technologies and MACH® control systems
  • Background in commissioning, site testing, and routine or type testing of main components
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and complex technical interfaces
  • Excellent communication skills in English and willingness to travel up to 40–50% across NAM

More about us

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life, and disability coverage
  • Competitive pension plan with employer contributions and a bonus program
  • Flexible work‑from‑home policy, wellness programs, and employee assistance resources
