Application Programmer (Cloud & Data)

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Application Programmer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative. The successful candidate will be involved in cloud-native application development, data engineering, system enhancement and implementation activities, working closely with business users and project stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse user requirements and participate in solution design for application development projects.
• Develop, test, implement and maintain cloud-based applications and system enhancements.
• Design and build serverless APIs, event-driven data pipelines and containerised processing components.
• Develop data models, database objects and data access logic across relational and non-relational databases.
• Prepare technical documentation, support testing activities, and participate in deployment and post-implementation support.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 4 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on cloud development experience.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, particularly serverless and managed services.
• Proficient in Python programming, SQL development and database technologies including Oracle, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs, ETL/ELT processes, CI/CD pipelines, Git and Agile delivery methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Spark, Kafka, CDC, Apache Airflow or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM), Customer 360 solutions and data quality management.
