Application Security Consultant(5896-1 )

Are you an Application Security expert with deep hands-on experience tuning Cloudflare and Akamai WAF platforms? We are seeking a senior consultant for a 12-month engagement in New York City to strengthen application security across cloud-hosted and enterprise-grade environments.

In this role, you’ll partner with engineering teams, product owners, and cybersecurity leadership to embed secure architecture across the SDLC and optimize web application protections against modern threat vectors.

Key Responsibilities

• WAF Engineering & Optimization: Onboard, configure, tune, and monitor enterprise protections across Cloudflare and Akamai WAF platforms.
• SDLC & Pipeline Security: Perform secure architecture reviews, threat modeling, and application security assessments across DevOps pipelines.
• Vulnerability Analysis: Utilize SAST, DAST, and SCA tooling to identify, analyze, and mitigate vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, XSS, SQLi, RCE, SSRF, etc.).
• Telemetry & Metrics: Integrate security logs from WAFs, scanners, and cloud environments into SIEM/SOAR platforms to build actionable dashboards and operational metrics.
• Team Enablement: Coach development teams on secure coding practices and establish repeatable governance processes.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 4–6+ Years of professional experience in Application Security / InfoSec.
• 5+ Years hands-on with Cloudflare WAF (policies, rulesets, bot management, DNS, DDoS, logpush).
• 4+ Years hands-on with Akamai WAF (KSD, Property Manager, Bot Manager, Edge DNS).
• Strong experience with SAST/DAST/SCA tools such as Burp Suite, Checkmarx, Fortify, or equivalents.
• In-depth understanding of HTTP/HTTPS traffic analysis, attack payloads, and OWASP Top 10.
• Background working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and modern web architectures.
