Application Security Engineer

Senior Application Security Engineer | DevSecOps & AI Security

A leading financial organization in Central Israel is looking for an experienced Senior Application Security Engineer to drive secure development practices and provide hands-on security guidance across complex enterprise technology environments.

This role combines Application Security, Secure SDLC, DevSecOps, and emerging AI security technologies , with a strong focus on working directly with development and infrastructure teams.

You will help embed security throughout the software development lifecycle, strengthen CI/CD security processes, and support the secure adoption of AI platforms, agents, and related technologies.

What You'll Do

• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to production
• Provide technical guidance on secure application architecture, secure coding, and enterprise security standards
• Identify and analyze complex application security risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies
• Implement and improve Secure SDLC processes and DevSecOps practices
• Support security reviews and guidance for AI-based technologies, including AI Agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI Skills
• Evaluate emerging application security and AI security technologies
• Integrate SAST, DAST, and other application security solutions into CI/CD pipelines
• Work with development platforms and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and Artifactory/Nexus
• Support application security across containerized environments, including Kubernetes, GKE, and OpenShift
• Ensure alignment with organizational security, architecture, and regulatory requirements
• Develop security guidelines, technical documentation, and secure development standards
• Mentor developers and technical teams on application security principles, secure coding, and vulnerability prevention

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in software development, technical guidance, or software architecture, with a focus on Application Security in enterprise environments
• Familiarity and practical exposure to AI components such as AI Agents, MCP, and AI Skills
• Experience working on large-scale, cross-functional technology projects
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Git-based development workflows
• Experience with SAST/DAST and application security tools such as Checkmarx, Mend, Sentinel, Xray, or similar solutions
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Artifactory/Nexus, Kubernetes, GKE, and OpenShift
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, and secure software development principles
• Ability to lead technical discussions and guide development teams toward secure engineering practices
• Strong analytical thinking, independent problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
