Application Support Analyst

Role Description

This role ensures the reliable performance, accessibility, and functional integrity of software applications across the organization. You act as the central technical liaison between users, development teams, and system providers, resolving issues, maintaining service quality, and maximizing application value.

You receive, triage, and investigate application-related inquiries, errors, and performance concerns, diagnosing root causes through systematic testing, log review, and configuration analysis. You resolve problems promptly — independently where possible — and escalate complex or systemic issues to technical or development teams with clear, detailed documentation of symptoms, steps taken, and impact. You monitor system availability, performance metrics, and scheduled jobs, alerting relevant parties to deviations and supporting timely resolution.

You guide users through application functionality, troubleshooting steps, and best practices, empowering confident and effective use. You validate software updates, patches, and configuration changes before and after deployment, confirming stability and functionality. You maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and knowledge base articles. You uphold strict data security, access control, and confidentiality standards across all system activities.

Qualifications

• Clear communication; able to explain technical concepts simply, guide non-technical users, and collaborate effectively with technical teams
• Solid understanding of software applications, system architectures, databases, and common integration principles
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools, remote support platforms, and standard business software; quick to learn new applications and workflows
• Detail-oriented and systematic; documents incidents, resolutions, and procedures thoroughly and consistently
• Reliable and responsive; able to prioritize critical issues, work under time pressure, and maintain focus during outages
