Application Support Analyst (E-Commerce)

Our client is a digital solutions and tech firm.

Overview

In this role, you are the middle person between the business team (who sells products) and the technical team (who builds the software). Your main job is to help fix system problems quickly so the online store never stops working.

Responsibilities:

• Find and Track System Problems: Be the first person people call when the online platform has a glitch. You will test the problem yourself, write down what went wrong, and list how urgent it is to fix.
• Talk to Both Tech and Business Teams: Explain business problems to programmers using technical details they understand. Then, explain technical updates back to business managers using simple, easy-to-understand language.
• Help Find Quick Fixes & Test Software: Help business users find temporary workarounds while the tech team fixes the root cause. You will run User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and software testing to make sure the fix actually works before closing the case.
• On-Call Support: Be ready to help handle urgent, high-priority system crashes after normal office hours when necessary on a scheduled shift.
• Fix Recurring Issues & Write Help Guides: Spot repeating glitches so the tech team can fix them permanently, and write simple FAQ guides and help articles for users.

Requirements:

• Education & Experience: A university degree in Business, IT, or Operations, plus at least 3 years of work experience as a System Analyst or Business Analyst (experience with retail systems is a big plus).
• Skills in Business Analysis & Testing: Strong skills in gathering business requirements, writing technical documentation, software testing, and managing UAT.
• Basic Tech & Coding Knowledge: Basic understanding of coding languages and databases like MySQL, Java, or JavaScript is a strong advantage.
• Communication & Problem Solving: Excellent spoken and written Cantonese and English. You must be good at solving problems and working under tight deadlines.
