🚀 We're looking for an Application Support Engineer – Payment Processing (Lisbon/Porto)

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join an international IT environment within the Securities Services / Payment Processing area, supporting business applications under the Germany scope .

The role is focused on Level 2/3 application support , working closely with business and IT teams to ensure the availability and smooth operation of production platforms. It combines incident and issue management, technical troubleshooting, automation and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on Oracle SQL, Linux/Windows, scripting and DevOps .

✅ Professional Experience & Main Tasks

• Provide application support for Payment Processing platforms within the Securities Services area.
• Support the business in their IT needs , understanding business workflows, processes and operational scenarios.
• Ensure proper production coverage according to the designated shift and operational requirements.
• Manage and follow up on incidents, tickets, tasks and production issues .
• Provide regular updates to business stakeholders, team members and other project/task partnering teams.
• Investigate underlying technical issues, associated patches and releases , and identify potential systemic problems.
• Document incidents, solutions and procedures to ensure effective knowledge sharing and follow-up.
• Support the training and onboarding of team members , sharing technical and business knowledge.
• Work closely with other team members to improve platform coverage and operational support.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve repetitive and procedure-oriented tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency within the support environment.
• Work with Linux, Windows, Unix and network environments when required.
• Participate in weekend and holiday support on a rotational basis , according to predefined operational needs.

✅ Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Application Production Support / IT Support .
• Mandatory knowledge of Oracle SQL .
• Good knowledge of scripting languages and automation.
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments .
• Knowledge of Unix is a plus.
• Knowledge of Ansible / DevOps .
• Understanding of ITIL principles is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and understand the relationship between applications, infrastructure and business processes.
• Experience in banking / financial services / payment processing is a plus.
