Freelance IT Application Support Engineer

We are looking for a Freelance IT Application Support Engineer to support a business in maintaining and improving its internal IT applications. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with business users and finding ways to make systems more efficient.

You will work closely with the internal IT team, helping to ensure applications run smoothly while contributing to ongoing improvements and technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for a range of internal business applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues and user queries.
• Log incidents, track resolutions and escalate more complex problems where necessary.
• Monitor application performance and identify potential issues before they affect users.
• Assist with application updates, testing and the implementation of new functionality.
• Support users with system changes and help improve the overall user experience.
• Contribute to the development of automated workflows and integrations between business systems.
• Work alongside colleagues and external partners to support ongoing IT initiatives.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• A genuine interest in business applications, software and digital processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent Dutch and a good working knowledge of English.

Previous experience in application support, ERP systems, reporting tools or business process automation is an advantage. However, candidates with a strong IT foundation and the right attitude will also be considered.
