Application Support - Semiconductor

Provides technical assistance to users of manufacturing systems and/or software applications. Resolve issues or problems related to the expected performance of an application. Assist in maintaining data and database, including update of tables. Generates and maintains reports and portals that support the accomplishment of the AFO performance metrics.

Responsibility:

1. Proactively monitor systems and software applications for optimum performance and availability.
2. Analyze applications and related databases to discover the source that causes a problem.
3. Educate end-users on the use of manufacturing applications and software and answer queries.
4. Respond to calls or issues raised by the user community.
5. Test application programs and web applications; correct errors, modify or make recommendations for improvement.
6. Analyze, identify and query data to generate reports per user-defined requirements. Ensure on-time delivery of auto generated reports.
7. Document systems or software applications, end-user and technical guides, training manuals.
8. Record issues/problems or user requests to generate Pareto reports and engage in problem-solving activities to identify root causes and formulate solutions.
9. Assist in creating backups and performing maintenance of data and database, including update of tables or records.
10. Create and maintain user accounts and privileges with applications.
11. Examine data stored in the database to check data integrity and make recommendations relating to performance and efficiency of the data storage.
12. Assist in the creation of tables/databases and program coding in the development of software applications.
13. Perform tasks and instructions as may be requested by superiors.
14. Ensure that the company’s commitment on environmental management, health and safety is observed and performed.
15. Be aware of the company’s quality and environmental policies.

Required Skill

• Bachelor’s degree (computer studies or engineering)
• Must have at 1 to 2 years of work-related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the electronics or semiconductor industry).
• Must be proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.) and electronic mail (MS Outlook, etc.); knowledgeable in at least 2 DBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and ability to use standard SQL scripts; familiar with Windows or Linux operating systems; with knack for solving problems using available problem solving tools and processes; with oral and written communication skills; must be resourceful, analytical, has perseverance, with good customer service skills and is a team player.
