Applications and Data Analyst Full Time – Permanent

Join St Andrew’s as an Applications and Data Analyst, supporting key systems and turning data into insights that improve care and performance.

Why St Andrew's?
At St Andrew’s, we are more than just Australia’s largest standalone private hospital – we are a community driven by a passion for exceptional care. Our dedicated team works together to deliver the best outcomes for our patients, and we believe a happy, engaged workforce is key to that success.

Our core values define us: We Care for Others. We Work Together. We Deliver Excellence.

About this role

We are seeking an Applications and Data Analyst to join our Information Technology team in a permanent full-time role.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will play an important role in supporting and optimising the Hospital’s business and clinical applications while helping us make better use of our data.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining application support with data analysis, reporting and business intelligence. You will troubleshoot application issues, support system changes and upgrades, work with vendors and internal stakeholders, and develop reports and insights that support operational and clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support for key business and clinical applications, including investigating and resolving application issues.
  • Support application changes, upgrades, testing and implementation activities.
  • Work with software vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve system functionality and workflows.
  • Extract, manipulate and analyse data from multiple systems, databases and data warehouses.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and business intelligence solutions, including using Power BI.
  • Use SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to query, analyse and manage data.
  • Support and troubleshoot data warehouse processes, data flows and SSIS routines.
  • Monitor and investigate data quality and integrity issues.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful information that can be readily understood by a range of stakeholders.
  • Contribute application and data expertise to technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Experience in application support, data analysis, business intelligence or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience extracting, manipulating and analysing data from multiple sources.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards and business intelligence solutions, ideally using Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Understanding of data warehouses, data structures and ETL processes, including SSIS routines.
  • Sound understanding of data quality, integrity and reporting principles.
  • Experience supporting application changes, upgrades and testing.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical and data-related information clearly to non-technical users.
  • A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, Health Informatics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Healthcare information systems, clinical data, case mix or clinical costing experience will be highly regarded.

What Sets Us Apart

  • Boost Your Take Home Pay: Generous salary packaging opportunities through AccessPay, including up to $15,900 per annum plus meals and entertainment benefits.
  • Safety and Support: Dedicated WHS specialists supporting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Meaningful Work: Use technology and data to support better decision-making and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
