What they need

Join Our Team at New Litho Group

Neo, Eastern Press, Valiant Press and Doculink are proud brands under the New Litho Group, a leading force in print marketing solutions and manufacturing with roots stretching back four generations. With close to 130 dedicated team members across operations in New South Wales and Victoria, we are a growing group focused on delivering exceptional quality through continually improving processes and cutting-edge technology.

We are looking for a motivated apprentice bindery tradesperson to join our team at NEO in Chatswood. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a trade and build a career in print production, in a friendly, supportive environment where your precision and reliability will directly contribute to our success.

Our centrally located factory features modern equipment, so you will be learning on up-to-date systems. The site is easily accessible via public transport and offers plenty of parking. It also suits someone who wants to build a trade without the hassle of moving between sites and working in the weather all the time.

About the Role

This is a full-time morning shift position in our post-press finishing department, with a focus on the saddle-stitching line and guillotine. Working alongside experienced operators, you will learn to set up and run equipment that collates, stitches, trims and finishes booklets, magazines and catalogues. Post-press is where the job comes together, so the work is central to making sure every multi-page document is assembled correctly, securely bound, and finished to the highest standard.

What You Will Learn and Do

  • Machine Operation: Set up and run the saddle stitching line and guillotine, adjusting pockets, caliper settings and trimmers to suit different booklet sizes and thicknesses.
  • Production Support: Load sections and covers into feeders to keep the line running continuously and efficiently.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor production to ensure correct pagination, precise stitch positioning, and clean, square three-knife trims.
  • Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance on stitching heads, replace wire spools, and clear minor mechanical stops or jams to minimise downtime.
  • Job Interpretation: Read job dockets to determine finished sizes, page counts and specific packing requirements.
  • Material Handling: Stack, box and palletise finished product correctly to prevent damage during transport.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organised workspace, strictly adhering to all machine safety guards and operating procedures.

Ideal Candidate

No print experience is required. We will teach you the trade. What we are looking for is:

  • Willingness to Learn: Genuine interest in machinery and in building a long-term trade career.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Practical, hands-on and comfortable working with equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: A good eye for spotting pagination errors, scuffing or trim defects.
  • Reliability: Safety-conscious, punctual, and able to hold focus and pace during time-sensitive production runs.
  • Team Player: Able to communicate well with the printing and folding departments to keep the workflow moving.

What We Offer at New Litho Group

Joining the New Litho Group means becoming part of a community that values every individual contribution. We are committed to fostering a workplace that is supportive, focused on quality, and offers real opportunities for growth.

  • A structured pathway to learn the trade, with hands-on training from an experienced team.
  • Ongoing professional development, including training in specific software, workflow tools and product categories.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of cutting-edge technology across both print production and IT infrastructure.
  • Modern equipment in a central, indoor factory environment with excellent conditions.
  • Easy access via public transport and plenty of on-site parking.
  • The chance to build a career within a stable, four-generation family business that is continuing to grow and innovate.
