About Us

Engineering Obsession is a proudly WA-owned manufacturing business based in Bibra Lake. Established in 2010, we have grown steadily, building a strong reputation for quality workmanship in heat exchangers and specialised welding.

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team in one of three apprenticeships:

• Apprentice Boilermaker
• Apprentice Machinist
• Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator

These roles offer the opportunity to learn a trade, gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a supportive environment alongside experienced tradespeople.

What You’ll Learn

Apprentice Boilermaker

• Fabricate and assemble steel components
• Weld, cut and prepare materials
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Safely use fabrication equipment, hand tools and power tools

Apprentice Machinist

• Operate manual and CNC machinery
• Manufacture precision components
• Read engineering drawings and specifications
• Use measuring and inspection equipment
• Set up machines and tooling

Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator

• Mark out, cut, form and assemble sheet metal components
• Operate fabrication equipment, including guillotines, press brakes and rollers
• Develop welding and metal finishing skills
• Read engineering drawings and specifications
• Measure and inspect finished work

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for applicants who:

• Have a genuine interest in engineering and learning a trade
• Are reliable, punctual and willing to learn
• Take pride in producing quality work
• Have good communication and teamwork skills
• Show strong attention to detail
• Understand the importance of workplace safety

A driver’s licence and reliable transport are preferred. A relevant pre-apprenticeship or work experience is advantageous but not essential.

School leavers, mature-age applicants and candidates who have already started an apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.
