Apprentice Carpenter

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter to learn and support a range of residential and commercial construction projects. Working alongside experienced carpenters, you’ll build practical skills in carpentry, woodworking, installation, and job-site safety. This is a paid position with hands-on training and opportunities to develop your craft.

Duties

• Assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wood and other building materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics with guidance.
• Use and care for hand tools and power tools safely.
• Support concrete forming and concrete finishing tasks.
• Help install and repair drywall and siding.
• Assist with restoration and repair work on existing structures.
• Move materials and help maintain an orderly, safe work area; perform heavy lifting as needed.
• Support equipment and material handling, including heavy equipment operation when trained and authorized.
• Assist with basic welding tasks when appropriate and under supervision.
• Follow instructions, safety procedures, and project schedules while learning core carpentry and woodworking techniques.

Requirements

• Interest in developing a career in carpentry and construction; prior construction experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn blueprint reading, tool use, and construction methods under supervision.
• Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly with the crew.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, carrying materials, and heavy lifting.
• Commitment to job-site safety and responsible use of tools and equipment.
• Experience with concrete forming or finishing, drywall, restoration, siding, schematics, welding, or heavy equipment is a plus.

Pay: $19.03-$37.20 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 per week
