Are you passionate about food and looking for an opportunity to build a genuine career as a Chef?

We are recruiting an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join the kitchen team of a large, well-established hospitality venue in Albury.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to learn their trade in a busy professional kitchen, working alongside experienced chefs while completing a recognised cookery qualification.

We would love to hear from school leavers looking to commence their first apprenticeship, as well as existing 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Chefs looking for the right environment to continue their training.

The Opportunity

Working as part of an experienced kitchen team, you will receive practical, hands-on training across all areas of commercial cookery.

You will learn to:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes
• Develop professional food preparation and knife skills
• Work across different sections of a commercial kitchen
• Assist with functions and high-volume food service
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and presentation standards
• Manage food preparation and kitchen organisation
• Work effectively as part of a professional kitchen brigade
• Develop the skills required to become a qualified Chef

About You

Previous commercial kitchen experience is not essential for someone commencing their apprenticeship.

More importantly, we are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in cooking and hospitality
• Is keen to learn and build a long-term career as a Chef
• Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Is reliable and punctual
• Takes pride in their presentation and work
• Is comfortable working in a busy environment
• Enjoys being part of a team
• Understands that hospitality involves a flexible roster, including some evenings and weekends
