What they need
HomeSync Security installs, monitors, and services security cameras, alarm systems, access control, networks, and Starlink internet for homeowners, ranches, churches, schools, and small businesses throughout Colorado. Our technicians are in the field every day. This position is one of them.
We are not looking for security system experience. We're looking for someone reliable, safe, and trainable who wants to learn a trade.
What You'll Do
- Pull cable through attics, crawlspaces, walls, and ceilings. Bend and run conduit
- Mount cameras, panels, keypads, sensors, readers, and network gear
- Terminate Cat5e/Cat6, RJ45, and punch-down to standard. Label and dress wire to company standard
- Read work orders and system designs, and check your work against them
- Bring systems online, configure basic settings, and test before you leave
- Communicate with the customer on arrival and walk them through their system when you're done
- Complete photos, job notes, and paperwork the same day. Clean the site
- Run site walks for estimates — measure the property, count device locations, note cable runs and obstacles, and bring back accurate photos and notes so the quote can be built
- Keep your assigned truck stocked, clean, and organized
- Work safe on every site — ladders, lifts, attics, crawlspaces, occupied homes, and active commercial buildings
- Help keep the shop clean, stocked, and organized. Inventory, staging, and equipment prep are part of the job
- Take on other work that keeps the company running. This is a small, hands-on team — some days everybody is sorting the shop, loading a trailer, or covering a service call, and we all pitch in
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license and a record that lets you operate a company vehicle statewide
- Reliable transportation to our Pueblo shop and a smartphone you can communicate on (bring-your-own-device)
- Comfortable on ladders, in attics, and in crawlspaces — in July and in January
- Able to read a work order, understand it, and ask questions up front
- Able to work a problem using available resources before escalating it
- Basic hand tools
- Ability to pass a background check — required in the alarm industry
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Helps, but we'll teach it: low-voltage, electrical, cable, IT, networking, or construction experience; conduit bending or structured wiring; camera, alarm, or access control installs; military or trades background.
How You Move Up
This role has a written path. Raises are earned by hitting standards, not by time served. Hit them faster, move faster.
Level 1 — Ramp up. On time and prepared. No no-call/no-shows. Pull cable and mount hardware safely without hand-holding. Terminate connectors with minimal coaching. Wire labeled to standard. Daily truck checklist done. Work that doesn't come back for rework. Supervisor signs off that you can handle core tasks without constant supervision.
Level 2 — Independence. You run a standard 4–6 camera residential job or an alarm install start to finish with limited help: walkthrough, mounting, wiring, setup, clean-up, testing, and customer demo. Callbacks under 10%, no repeat issues on the same job, strong quality and customer scores, paperwork correct.
Level 3 — Top of the range. Sustained performance over time: efficient jobs, very low callbacks, strong customer feedback, helping newer techs, consistently prepared and organized.
Beyond this role. Promotion into Electronic Systems Tech 1 or 2, Field Supervisor, or Electronic Systems Engineer — separate pay bands that pick up programming, network configuration, and job leadership.
Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working from lifts, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, and full days on your feet in unconditioned spaces in summer heat and winter cold. Many sites are rural with nothing nearby.

- Medical coverage available after 60 days; six paid holidays; paid sick leave per Colorado law; retirement through Colorado SecureSavings
- Company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided. Paid on-the-job training in cameras, alarms, access control, and networking
